The Role
As Executive Producer, you will be an integral part of our business: you’ll have total end-to-end responsibility for pitching, producing and delivering audio and video programmes both to clients, and aspart of Listen’s original content.
Working with your colleagues and managing production teams, as an Exec you’ll continually strive to deliver the highest editorial and production standards, whilst at the same time ensuring that all production strategies are practical and financially sound.
Responsibilities
· Production– you will bring expertise on all aspects of producing audio and video podcasts, and social content (prep, scripting, recording, shooting, editing and distribution)
· Development– originating ideas, facilitating creative sessions, leading development processes, and working with the team to produce best in class proposals.
· Pitching– selling strategies and creative ideas to a variety of clients including brands, agencies, broadcasters, commissioners and global platforms.
· Client liaison – you will be the face of Listen to commissioners and clients at all stages from pitch to delivery.
· Staffing projects – you will use your black book of contacts to assemble and manage a team of multimedia producers best suited to each project.
· Strategy– work with the other members of the senior team to define and execute company strategy.
· People management – line-management responsibility for internal production teams and freelancers and the responsibility for coaching and mentoring those who report to you to help them develop their own careers at Listen.
· Budgeting and financial management – comfortable creating and managing production budgets and work with colleagues in finance and production management to ensure your projects are kept on track and delivered with margin intact.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has an ambition to be a key voice at the heart of an ambitious, growing company with a focus on producing visualised podcasts and supporting social content.
· Has tonnes of ideas and enjoys writing creative treatments.
· Has significant contacts at commissioning platforms, brands, agencies and with talent.
· Has a black book of producers, assistant producers, videographers, directors and social producers.
· Has excellent knowledge of audio and video equipment, post-production and is confident managing a complex visual record and shoot environment.
· Has a natural desire to win work and enjoys pitching.
· Is a people manager who quickly gains the trust and respect of their teams, adept at delivering constructive feedback and managing difficult conversations.
· Understands the importance of compliance including a thorough understanding of standards such as BBC Editorial Guidelines, Ofcom regs, and ASA.
· Understands the importance of health and safety and knows what is required to achieve best practice in this kind of role.
· Consumes other people’s content and appreciates a wide range of subjects from arts, current affairs, pop culture, sport, comedy, film and politics.
Location
This is a hybrid role which will require you to work from home and Listen’s London offices.
Line of report
This role will report into the Director of Content.
Salary range
£55,000-£67,000depending on experience (plus bonus).
